Isn't it sweet?

I found this little beauty of a sandwich (or cake) plate at a yard sale for a buck.  I kinda sorta hoped it would be classified as chintzware, but according to Replacements Ltd., it just didn't make the cut.  It's from the James-Kent Ltd. company (made in England) and it's called Pearl Delight.

But I did find that the same place in good condition is worth about $12, so -- it's not a bad investment after all.

What do you think of it?

I'll have a BIG slice!

Years ago I bought a beautiful milk glass cake plate in perfect condition.  I brought it home, got out of the car, and as I was entering the house, the screen door whacked it--breaking off a large chunk.  Oh, how I cried.

It took me twenty years to find another just like it, and oddly enough, I believe I paid the same amount of money for it as the first one ($4).

I've got a birthday coming up and I know what my cake is going to be sitting on.

Do you have a cake plate?  What style is it?

A rose is a rose ...

Following last Thursday's post ... the little crackle box with the rose on top,  I found this at a yard sale in Fair Haven.  Isn't it darling?  It's pretty now, but I know I'll enjoy it even more this winter when the snow is on the ground and my roses are hibernating.  (I believe I paid a $1 for it.)

Do you love roses as much as I do?

A little late with this ...

Good heavens!  I forgot to blog.  I went through so many weeks of getting NOTHING that when I did start to find treasures, I forgot to blog about them.  Well, at least now I have fodder for a couple of weeks worth of blogs ... and alas, soon the yard sale season will be over.  But, fear not -- let me share a few of the things I found while canvasing the backroads of Wayne County.

I'll only show one a day -- otherwise I'll be scratching my head trying to think of something to blog about.

A few weeks back, I had a guest come visit.  Before she arrived, I decided I should try to "girlify" my guest room. I found this darling little crackle box at a sale for only 25 cents.  Right now I'm keeping my excess earrings in it.  It sits on a shelf on a doily looking just lovely.

Come back Monday to see what else I found! (And wish me luck that I find something pretty on Saturday.)
