The other day I was asked about my collections. One I don't think of often is my brides and grooms.
I probably would have never started collecting wedding cake toppers if one of my cats hadn't broken my own. It was a glass heart. Larry knocked it off the shelf and it broke into a million pieces. It was rather unique. I've never seen another one like it.
So is it any wonder that wedding cake toppers--and especially vintage ones--fascinate me?
I thought for the next couple of posts I'd share my collection with you. This one is the first topper I bought. I got it at an estate sale. I'm not sure what I paid for it, but I know it was $5 or less. I figure the real bride must have married in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
What did your wedding cake topper look like?
P.S. Happy Happy Wedding Day was a song by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters. You can hear a sample right here.
